Forget Beanie Babies or Cabbage Crap Dolls – Mean Dogs are stuffed animals for dog lovers / haters, big or small. They have their own theme song! And an animated cartoon?! Yeah? Hell yeah!
Mean Dogs Theme Song
Creator John Nau produced a small batch, tototypes if you will, and sold them exclusively out of Acme Vintage Shop down on Abbot Kinney in Venice, Los Angeles. John also penned and recorded the official, off the chain, theme song. LA animator Frankie Campanella was enlisted to create the (first?) introductory cartoon featuring Mrs. Sugarpuff.
All the puppies produced found good homes with one complete set remaining in John’s possession that includes Mr Doodles, Mad Max, Mrs Sugar Puff, Lazy Daisy and Pistol Pete. All bite and no bark, you’ll never want to put them down. Interested in rescuing these sick puppies? Leave a comment below. John has the patterns, the will and the vision. Maybe we can kickstart these pooches back to home near you!
